Warm greetings from the National Secretariat of Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG).
Pursuant to a statement we issued on the 18th June, 2020 after stakeholders engagement on teacher licensure examination, allowances, topup program etc We have been recieving calls from teacher trainees and other stakeholders seeking to know the reason for the delay in the payment of allowances after we assured our membership of payment at the end of June.
Indeed, our assurances was a result of our engagement with the CEO of the paying agency (Students Loan Trust Fund) and we relayed in truth what resulted from our meeting.
However, everything did not go on well as planned after our visit as a follow up to the CEO of the Trust revealed that, their payment system developed a technical challenge which is being resolved. We therefore call for a quick and swift resolution of the challenge to pave way for payment to commence.
We wish to also remind those whose details were either deemed incorrect or were not sent therefore did not receive any allowance since last semester to immediately visit their various Colleges to make the necessary corrections. We would like to use this medium to officially congratulate all newly trained teachers, who completed their three-year course of study on 3rd July 2020. We say ‘ayekoo’ and congratulations!!
To all our members, we extend our gratitude and appreciation for your
continuous support and cooperation. We understand the difficulties you
are going through due to the delay in the payment of the allowance.
Leadership is seriously engaging stakeholders and very soon a positive result will be seen. In conclusion, we would like to reiterate for the attention of the stakeholders in education, teacher trainees and the general public, that TTAG remains a non-partisan students Association. Hence, we do not run commentary on political issues and that any official communication from us, Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), the mouthpiece of Teacher Trainees across the 46 Colleges of Education will always be on the official letter head of the Association.
Therefore anything purported to be emanating from any firm or any individual representing Teacher Trainees should be disregarded and treated with the contempt it deserves.
We caution individuals and groups to desist from attempts to cause
dissatisfaction within the membership and misrepresentation of TTAG.
Keep safe and healthy. Coronavirus is REAL. Protect yourself and your
God bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong.
Thank you very much.
