🇬🇭 EDUCATE GHANA SUMMIT(EGS) RELEASE
STAY HOME WITH YOUR FAMILY TO PREVENT SPREAD OF THE VIRUS – Dir. Policy and Research.
The novel Coronavirus is fast taking a toll on the African continent as predicted by the W.H.O. Looking at the vulnerable nature of African countries, we shall be in hell if a pragmatic decision isn’t taken now to stop community spread.
What should we do now? Simple! We must not wait for our governments to save us; we need to save our own lives before it’s too late. The number of infected patients are fast increasing in our part of the world hence the need for a lockdown of the country immediately! This will help deal with the social distancing crisis and reduce the spread.
Rwanda with only 17 cases has locked down the country to prevent further spread. Ghana and many other sister countries have recorded 27 cases and still counting yet we’ve been slow to act to prevent community spread. Are we waiting for the spread to overwhelm us before locking down the country? No! Let’s do it now!
E.G.S hereby suggests that everyone stays indoor. Don’t move; keep yourself and family at home. Stop boarding public transports, stop going to town, stop going to the markets and malls, stop receiving visitors at home, stop using the hairdressing and barbering salons, stop handling physical money (as much as possible). This is a sure way to avoid being infected.
We don’t have to wait for our president to announce a lockdown before we stop going to town. It’s our collective good to save ourselves. We are our own savior so let’s save our lives now.
NOTE THE FOLLOWING
a. The virus does not spread on its own; we are the ones that spread it. So stay home to prevent the spread.
b. Don’t think hospitals can save you; they are the places you’re likely to get infected or spread the infection. So stay home to save your life and that of our vulnerable health workers.
c. There is no cure for the virus, so stay home if you don’t want to be infected.
d. You are human, you can be infected and you can die. So, my beloved, stay home because you only live once.
WHAT TO DO AT HOME
e. As we stay home, let’s eat well, have enough sleep and drink enough water
f. Add lemon or lime to your diets, slice lemon into warm water to drink
g. Reduce the usage of air-conditioning
h. Have a quality time with your family. Let us use this period of staying home to renew our love and care for our partners and kids. We need each other now more than ever before.
Had I know is always too late!
Don’t say we didn’t show you the way.
STAY HOME; STAY SAFE!
