Online Lectures For Colleges Of Education To Start On Monday –
Colleges of Education are expected to reopen for academic work for the second semester, 2019/2020 academic year via interactive online platforms on Monday, 27th April, 2020.
This was according to a statement released by the PRINCOF National President, Dr. Emmanuel Nyamekye.
The statement explained that, Colleges of Education are finding stop gap solutions to continue teaching but the quality of learning is heavily dependant on the level and quality of digital access, that is, PCs/Laptops/Mobile phones, network and data.
“It is envisaged that, our staff and students will make good use of, by patronizing standard asynchronous online learning tools (such as reading material via Google Classroom) and other digital online platforms which will soon be rolled out for effective teaching and learning. This for me should become prevalent and consequential trend to future teacher education in Ghana” the statement added.
In the statement released, Dr. Nyamekye commended tutors who for the last few days are reorienting their approaches to teaching from face-to-face engagements to the delivery of lessons on virtual platforms.
He used the opportunity to call on Teleco’s in the country to work towards reducing the cost of data to enable trainee teachers to get access to their online learning platforms easily.
