The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released identity cards (IDs) for a total of 912 newly-recruited teachers to allow them to undergo the new entrant biometric registration and proceed to receive their salaries.
The Education Service has recently released the biometric registration schedule and venue for the newly recruited teachers.
According to the Ghana Education Service, each of the 912 teachers who were part of 2018 trainees and employed last year is to report to the GNAT Hall in Accra from Monday, May 11 to 15 to go through the registration exercise.
The registration will authorize the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to capture needed details of the newly recruited teachers onto the public payroll.
The registration has become necessary as its the last procedure for the teachers before they start to recieve their monthly earnings.
Even though last month’s biometric registration was done in the regions for the teachers, however, this last process will be conducted in Accra.
An insider within the Service told websaet.com the decision for teachers to come to Accra this time is due to the small numbers involved.
Looking at the number Ashanti Region has the highest number of teachers, it has 369 teachers followed by the Brong Ahafo region with 99, both regions will have their registration from May 13 to 14.
The 46 Teachers from the Central Region, 85 Eastern Region and the 79 from the Greater Accra Region will take their registration from May 11 to 12.
Additionally, the 18 teachers from Nothern Region, 42 from the Upper East, and the 74 teachers from the Upper West will undergo the registration exercise from May 11 to 15.
The 81 teachers from the Volta region and the 20 from the Western region will also commence registration from May 13 to 15.
