Coronavirus: Health Minister Must Apologise to Ghanaians for Reserving a Hospital for Only “V.I.Ps”- Counsellor Daniel Fenyi
- The Health Minister, Kweku Agyemang Manu, during a press briefing yesterday morning , April 1, indicated that the Bank of Ghana Hospital in Accra is reserved for only V.I.Ps and other staff of BoG who may contract Coronavirus.
He, in explaining, said Ghana Government has no control over the Hospital hence they met, discussed and went into an agreement with the Bank of Ghana to release their hospital for use.
The Minister, in the statement, has insulted every Ghanaian who joined long queues in the scorching to vote them (our leaders generally) into power. When people are dying of coronavirus, the Minister is talking about VIPs.
It is shocking that in the midst of Coronavirus, where every reasonable country is gathering all it has to combat the menace, Ghana has reserved a hospital for only VIP coronavirus treatment.
In the face of coronavirus, who is a VIP? What if no “VIP” contracts the disease, that means the facility won’t be accessed while many lives are lost everyday?
In what seemed like an afterthought, the BoG released a statement later in the evening to impress that the Minister was wrong and that the Hospital is open to the general public.
This statement is rejected until the Health Minister himself admits the reckless statement and comes out to apologise.
