AKWAPIM SOUTH MUNICIPAL, NATIONAL YOUTH AUTHORITY – GHANA (NYA) DONATES TO CHARITY.
The National Youth Authority of Akwapim South Municipal(Aburi) in the Eastern Region of Ghana, donates clothing, shoes, belts,caps and bags to the under – privileged youth, children and women in Aburi on 2nd of March 2020.
According to the Acting Municipal Director of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Nzeh George Kwesi, these items were provided base on the request from one Assembly man called Honourable Seth Asare of Aburi North to support some under privileged youth, children and women in Aburi.
The Director added that, we should all try and support the under – privileged in our various communities such as children, women and especially the youth, since they are the engine of growth for the future development of this country.
Why throw away the clothes you buy, when there are a lot of under – privileged people in the world struggling to get enough bread to live for the next day, he asked. He then ended his speech by asking the beneficiaries to be good citizens of this country and refrain from deviant behaviors.
Furthermore, the Municipal Public Relations Officer of NYA Miss Portia Owusu – Achiaw, also added that donating to the less privileged in society will not only bring them joy and love but will also give them hope for the future.
The programme officer of NYA, Mr Samual Bassaw Etsiwah also told the beneficiaries that, aside the support given to them, we would from time to time organize educational programs for them to ensure capacity building.
The beneficiaries were very thrilled to receive these items since is one of their basic need they have been struggling for. To that end, they thanked NYA for responding to their cry.
Honorable Seth Asare, who received these items on behalf of the beneficiaries also said, some of the beneficiaries could not make it to the program due to various reasons but promised NYA, he will ensure they also get their part of the items provided. He then thanked NYA for their noble cause and not letting the beneficiaries down.
He then encouraged NYA to keep up with the good work they have been doing for the Municipal especially the youth.
